Baptist ChurchChristians Living Under God's Curse
Question
--- Is It True That Many Christians Are Living Under God's Curse Rather Than God's Blessings? If So, How Can This Be Since Christ Was Make A Curse For Us On The Cross? (Gal. 3:13)
Answer --- As astonishing as it may seem, the answer to your question is "Yes". Even though no Christian can ever so sin as to lose his salvation, he can put himself under God's chastisement rather than God's blessings. As a matter of fact, if a Christian is disobedient in his service to God, He Will Be Disciplined By God. If he is not disciplined, that is Incontestable Evidence that he has never been saved. In other words, he is Illegitimate. He professes to be something he is not. In other words, he has never truly been born again.
Hebrews 12:8, "But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons."
Paul, with reference to a Worldly Christian, went so far as to instruct the Church at Corinth to "deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus." (1 Cor. 5:2-5) There is also the Sin Unto Death that a disobedient Christian can commit (1 John 5:16). However, these matters will be explained in other articles. Your question dealt with whether a Christians could be living under God's curse rather than God's blessings.
There are at least Seven Curses that a Christian can find himself living under if he is not faithful in his service to God. Now you may not like the word "Curse" but it is the word that God uses. However, if you prefer, you may substitute the word "Judgment". Whether a person is under the "Curse" of God or the "Judgment" of God is of no concern of mine. The Results Are The Same.
To answer this question in detail would be longer than most people would want to read. For those of you who are interested in a detailed study of this subject, I refer you to an outline of a message I preached at Northgate Baptist Church.
